Gainful Grope

A new term my fellow aviators and I made from training. Probably something you'd find funny if you were there. Anyways, been real lazy on my blog, only because I'm usually busy doing something, or trying to relax. It's a tough life really.

I got some pictures from snowboarding last tuesday. The new face pic on the right along with my blog "face lift" is one of those pictures. Please enjoy....

It was a Delight!

Look at these views!

Last night I sadly made my goodbye hugs and kisses(and some more hugs... and kisses ;) and flew back from the wonderful P-cola. I had a fine thanksgiving with my Siggy(significant other) and her family. Also spent some time with my family and friends and her family's friends at her engagement party. It's so funny, a lot of her family friends have sons and daughters getting married in the next year and I've seen a lot of them in the past 6 months. It's like I'm buddy buddy with a lot of the fathers, and some of them have quite a sense of humor. I also got to meet some of the lady's friends from school, what a fantastic bunch. We all ended up going to Seville Q. after the party had subsided, and danced like superstars. Then a little Awful Waffle to end the most excellent night. As a side, Brooksy, one of the baber's friends came back from his drive home to bama to return baber's coat and preceded to give us a ride home, a decent amount of min. out of his way. What a good friend!

The rest of the weekend was a lot of qt, just what we needed. I was sad to leave but happy to see her again in 3 weeks. I am looking forward.

On to the crappy drive back. Pretty much everything went smoothly, I got my car in good time, and got a little lost trying to get onto the highway. This is when things went awry. I started hearing this whighing noise from the back of the car, and got higher pitched with speed. The steering wasn't compromised and I didn't see any smoke so somewhat dismissed it. Then it got really loud and the car started moving differently. Turns out I blew a tire, the same tire that my mechanic warned me about. My bad, I was supposed to get new tires a few thousand miles ago. So sue me.

Changed the tire, got home at an awful 4AM west coast time. It took me 5 minutes to get up the road I live on(only a few hundred feet) because nobody plowed the roads in Skyline. I finally got up my driveway, and had a bad feeling about the traction since there was snow on the driveway. My thoughts were correct and I watched as my car swiftly slid down my driveway into the road. I had reservations about parking in the street, but looking out now it seems that we aren't really a priority to plows(still snow on the road).

They ended up closing the base, and I got to sleep in(yay!) I spent the remainder bumming around and wanting to get tires on my car. At this point in my blog, you will see my text to abruptly end so I can accomplish that.

Enjoy my pictures!

Holy tsunami!

Last night I had no idea but there was a tsunami warning in our area! They canceled it this morning and I found out from our instructor, crazy stuff. Right now the winds are in gusting in excess of 50mph and the power is out in Whidbey. Thankfully not in A-town so I can finally write in my blog. Unfortunately I get to stand my PSWO watch regardless, but it's at 8 instead of 4, and until 12am. Fantastical! At least I get some Wednesday dinner over Zach's, I'll just need my flashlight and some candles.

Its my birffday! Yaaaaaaaay!

Sunday!!!!! Gotta love birthdays. Everything's a surprise. Who's going to do what for you? I love it.

My baby will be here in 5 hours, I have been waiting for this the day she left. It so sucks when she's not around. I sure will make the most of our weekend together.

Tomorrow her and I will probably spend most of the time in qto(quality time out) in my room, then off to south whidbey Island for some dinner and dancing. Once we have our fill we go back to Atown to the brown or Wtown, then a night in the glorious Majestic Hotel. It's so fantastic I have to pee.

Sunday, I'm not so sure. Izumi's roomy is making perogies from scratch(awthome!) and we are starting our first day in swing class. I'm way too excited for the male species. I don't care.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Blah

I wish I had something I think is interesting to say in my blog. But I don't. I'm learning my new aircraft, doing a shoddy job at best(i think). My motivation is wavering, and now that the sun has decided to probably not come out for the next 6 months, it probably won't help me much. Positive habit forming needs to occur in the near future if I want to survive this place with minimum scaring. Here is my plan of attack:

1. Daily work outs(shorter but more frequent?)
2. Cut down on booze consumption(this one is very touchy, and actually frowned upon in the Navy. What can I do in this situation? Looking at maybe offering my sober driving one night a week)
3. More studying. I can actually do this fairly easy since we are stuck on base until 3:30 every day for 2 months. The FOD walkdown program here is out of control. 2 times a day.....
4. My daily schedule. My daily planner needs to be found. oh here it is. Gotta start using it, or make lists. PJB is my hero in this department.

I'm sure there are other things I need to probably work on, but for now I think it's a good start to getting more motivated, organized and focused. Also help in keeping a positive mental attitude with this depressing weather. Booooooooooooo.

Bed time, I have a retest tomorrow I shouldn't have had to take. But you live and you learn. Something my mother told me a few times, "Striepeck's learn by mistakes, whether by others or their own." She could never be more right in some cases.

Hello there stranger

Been a while since I've blogged. Usually that means lots has happened since the latter. Quite right.

This past weekend I took the long trek from west to east coast U.S of A. Let me tell you, that was about as fun as a root canal. I got to sit next to a fat man on the second leg, which meant that the arm rest was retracted in order to make room for his more than healthy eating habit. Bless his heart. Actually his disregard for restraint turned out a blessing in disguise, as at one point I used his large mass as a pillow for my bottom, which was actually very toasty. Thank you very large man for your contribution.

It was good to see Steph at the airport, as always. She is an angel in my eyes, and brightens up my life in so many ways. I can't thank her enough for joining me for the fabulous weekend.

Stephen and Kendra's wedding went without a hitch, and we all had quite a deal of fun. There was much dancing and great music, the band was fab. We all eventually went back to Stephen's and Kendra's house for an after reception party. More band and booze, two things we all love. Then, time to rack out, so I pulled the drunken boy off our air matress, dismissed his spittle on the babe's pillow, and called it a night.

Saturday was spent in Boston, which was terrific. Mike and his g/f took us on a tour of Boston, hitting up the many highlighted areas of interest(quincy market, the shopping district and little Italy). Then Michael had a bbq with many of our fraternity boys present. Steph and I had a few moments of qt, and then I preceded to get drizzunk and had glorious moments of triumph with the boys. PJB tells updates me on the parts I forgot: I was a silly man. I agree. Just like old times.

Sunday was a looooooong day of traveling, not much else. I missed my fine lady as soon as she was out of kissing radius. I was burnt out and ended up passing out after a fruitless effort of studying on base.

The current week was full of sickness and studies, both of which I detest. Tonight shall be a night of bummin and possibly brew making. We'll just see about that.

Looking forward to an interesting weekend as always. Possibly burlingham for the REI garage sale. Maybe some Thai food. Definately a pizza from the Pizza factory in like 10 minutes. Delish.

Fair winds and steady sails...

The Good Times are Killing Me

I've decided to use the title of a Modest Mouse song as the header for my blog. It basically represents the last few weeks of my time here in A-town. The group of friends I've made here are really tight, and there are rarely times where we broke up for any nightly event. The only problem with that is, they also have a taste in late night partying and excessive drinking. This stems from the fact that we all are people who love to go "BIG". A bunch of type A personalities that get along, which makes us a hard group to defeat when we get rolling.

Which brings up my point that I've been partying like a rockstar for about 50% or more of the nights I've been here. Not that it's a bad thing, just it's wearing me out. The quizes and tests are starting to get more frequent in my schooling(a quiz every day, and test days include a quiz as well), and it's not like the material is hard to memorize but it's still route memorization and it the material builds on itself.
A quote from Snatch: "You're on thin F*cking ice there Turkish, and I will be under it when it breaks." So far I'm still on top. We'll see how far this lasts before I need to get off(or even out of) the ice.

Another note, I'm pretty excited about the wedding. PJB has been making the preps, and been doing a heck of a job too. I'm very proud of her. It will be nice when it's all said and done and I get to tell her congrats on a day to day basis, IN PERSON. I miss my PJB.

This weekend should be like no other, the main reason being we're headed to Oak Harbor for the night, which some of us swore off before even stepping one foot in the nightlife down there. I say, give it one chance before you agree that Oak Harbor is no place for a Junior Officer. Skeptisism is such a depressing trait sometimes. Why not be more adventurous and make life more interesting? I guess the reason you don't is because you're boring and a tool bag and don't need to hang with our group and poop on the party.

But I know I'm preaching to the choir, my loyal fans out there ;)

Rest of the weekend:
1. trying to volunteer at the humane society. scheduled for Sat.
2. Brew beer and then Movie night? Sat.
3. Sunday, End of summer party @ bartender Jeremy's house.
4. Salsa dancing lessons in Oak Harbor sunday afternoon. followed by studying on base(fun)

Again, should be a good weekend.

August 30, 2006

I've decided to show this poster in honor of PJB, who so graciously is bestowing her presence in the fine city of Anacortes for the weekend. I am so very appreciative.
Here's to you baby, you're the best.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow.

Everybody's workin for the weekend

Quite a few highlights of the "extended" weekend for the FASO crew. We had no class friday because of the command picnic, so of course it was ON. Like Donkey Kong.

The afternoon started with getting pumped up before the nights festivities, so like any rational male, we decided to drink and lift weights. On Nick's deck. Talk about ridiculous. We followed that up with a walk to my house for some Polish Blowout and fun dancing. Nick unfortunately decided to take a nap on the couch, which ultimately led to a fine T-bagging. I have no problems taking the glory for that. It was my pleasure.

80's party, yet again. This time more people were able to go, and we came with more 80's garb. I decided on a pair of blue and white flash pants(if that's what you call them) and a wilson's tennis zip up. I must say I was a bit flash dance. I was thoroughly impressed by the crew's dress as well. We came to rock, and rock is what we did. Nice work peeps.

And yet again, friday was broughten. There was the FASO picnic with large amounts of pork and a small amount of Tug O War. As the anchor of the team, I brought our team 2 wins against a brawny enlisted squad. What can I say, I eat me spinach.

Friday night at the brown, enough said. I had a blast which is all you need to know. Oh and Josh had over a 200 dollar bar tab. What a shot whore. We love him for it.

Saturday was recovery followed by the Prowler ball, which was an enormous amount of fun. The theme was SNL and each squadron had their own booth where they served drinks and jello shots gallor. The coolest things I saw was a flip cup table and an actual river of alcohol. How amazing. If I hadn't realized it yet, I am going to like the Prowler community. Still in our chokers, we took the party to the Brown. And we did.

6 AM I get woken up by Eric yelling for me to get my drooling mug ready for some deep sea fishing. Somewhat startled, I then get confused to find myself with my uniform still on and laying sideways on top of Candice's bed. I surmise at that time it was too hard to climb a few flight of stairs to my room. My instincts also told me that Candice wasn't coming home that night, so why not take that ticket of convenience?

Back to the 6 AM, we somehow got me out of the house and over to the marina, only to realize that we didn't have our fishing licenses, beer, or check books to pay the man. The man himself wasn't even ready to go, so we opted out of the charter, and retired back to our abodes. I enjoyed my own bed this time. Later Sunday we hung out over the Compound(Eric, Marcus and Will's house) for a freezing swim to the buoy and back, and some crabbing. We saw a seal, the neighborhood dog(PJB seems to think it's a Retriever/Chow mix) and Waiting on DVD(my first time, laugh attack city). The conclusion of a fine weekend, yet again.

This place does not disappoint. Which is perfect because neither do I. What a fab duo.

Speaking of, heard that PJB maybe coming a day earlier. What delight. I'm already exciting she's coming on Thursday. I have so much to do, so little time. I pray I don't miss anything.

I plan on doing another entry before the coming of the most fabulous person in my world. After that, probably not again until Wednesday. Chao.

Better late than never I always say...

Here's some pics that I had taken over the past few days, starting in reverse back to thursday . I never did get any pictures from the 80's party in Bellingham, but I would say I got most of the highlights of the weekend.

Monday(today): Biking Cranberry Lake with Nick and Eric.

Saturday night: The Brown Lantern, where roomy Candice was a riot. And Eric too.

Saturday: Hiked up the Northern Cascades, we got to see Doubtful Lake. There were many other trails in the area, so we'll be coming back again. Don't you worry your little head.

some of the scenery from the northern cascades. This really was a treat of a trip.

Friday night and Sat. morning: The campsite had a river along it, the (King) Salmon were huge! Another type of Samon is going in season soon and I've just got my fishing liscense. What timing...

Thursday day: 2nd time biking Cranberry Lake area. In trying a different route, we got lost in eastern anacortes... We eventually got back, and ended up biking for 2 hours. Too much fun though.

So far, this area is kicking butt and I'm having a super time. Unfortunately I can't share it with my best friend. I feel like I'm always missing something(or someone) in every event here. The slight sensation of emptiness in everything fun I do does not sit well with me.

However, there is something that is beneficial about having a distance relationship. When I do eventually see her, it will be like the first time again. It will be soooo glorious. Making every minute apart that much more worth it. That's what I'm looking forward to. Until then...

I hope this weather lasts through Labor day and beyond. Goodnight.

August 11, 2006

Oh boy...

To begin my fabulous weekend, last night a group of us guys went to an "80's night" bar in Bellingham, about 45 minutes from Anacortes. I, of course was in my 80's best, or planned on it. However, nobody else was. Made for a bit of dissapointment of the parts of my fellow party animals. Regardless, we had a Rad time for sure. Bellingham has a really nice night life, and the drunk food after the bar is something fantastic. Last month I went with some other friends and we ended up eating at a greek eatery, really is the only way I can describe it. Their specialty was their pita wraps, and you could get a variety of delisciousness, such as gyros and babaganush(I murdered that word). Last night I had steamed perogies, which were smaller than normal(1/2 size) and came in meat or potatoes. They put some cajun seasoning on it and a piece of bread, and you were able to put some oil and salt on it as well. I just had to have an order of each, and it made my belly so so happy. I was very proud.

This weekend shall be epic and memorable for sure. Saturday is Will, Marcus and new roomate Eric house warming party part deux. It may be better than the first, I just don't know. I am going to try to fill up the rest of the weekend with stuff that doesn't involve ingesting large quantities of liquid courage. That will be the trick, and I will report right back when I figure it out.

Until the weekend review... tootles!

Another Doooozy

Once again, this fair city of Anacortes has bestowed upon me another barn burner weekend. One that I made an almost sad recovery from. I consumed enough alcohol to kill a family of short Asians, or one tiny Mexican baby. Not so good. I seemed to have misplaced my keys and my sunglasses, that latter of which I swore to the UV god that I would keep in my possession for the remainder of my being. Being faulty on my word, I've been banished from the 4H club(the UV god is a committee member). With my tail betwixt my leggins, I scamper to the dwelling known as Skyline to write my next blogg. What nerve.

Friday I went wakeboarding and then we had our promotion party at the Brown Lantern, which I totally rocked. Reason being I remembered that cameras can be fun at gala events. To describe the event is quite a treat for myself AND yourself if there's pics involved. The BL got an extention on it's bar, and I was asked to take pics of that as well. They will be posted on myspace in time. The newly appointed JG's dropped 200 bucks a piece, making my nite of drinking quite free, and well, more than tolerable.

The next day I fail to get myself a desk from a local thrift shop, and instead attend the arts festival downtown. It had great food(for me, a potsticker combo and a corn on the cob) and I was thoroughly satisfied. Johny G., Justin H., Matty K. and Billy S.(that's me!) all went across the street and saw Talladega Nights staring Will D.(D for Destroyer) Farrell. It was hillary. constant laughing from the majority of the people in the theatre, and I saw some great previews for 4 movies that I think are must sees. To mention one, Employee of the month with Dane Cook. I think he is funny to begin with, so this movie will be on my priority list(not the same list with my sunglasses). After the movie, Johny G. and I meet up with the boys of the BL and had another ridiculous night, traversing to a squadron JO's house(Jimmy) where I decided to loose my previously stated personal items. I wake up the next day in a bed made of box wrapping paper(for moving boxes) over my next door neighbors house. A fun night, just I wish I was conscious enough to remember to not leave keys and sun glasses at Jimmy's house. You live and you learn I suppose.

Sunday was recovery, and then a nice bbq over another neighbors, Justin and Nick's (they are brothers, and gentlemen as well). A very easy Sunday afternoon, just what I needed. I had a wee bit of time to study for my test today.... which I rocked. Waiting for....

Fantastic, the movers are here to pick up the boxes. Enjoy the pics!
(From top left to bottom right)
1. Thumbs up from an old drunken sailor
2. The main section of the bar, it was PACKED
3. Eric and I showing off Aaron's pearly whites. It looks like he stole my dentures.
4. Jeremy, Jeremy's AUNT, myself and Aaron. Jeremy had to work while we reaped the benefits.
5. There you are Angie.
6. Marcus, Chris and Matt. Chris's wife couldn't satisfy his need for chocolate love.
7. Marcus, Shawn, and Christine. Rock stars.
8. Amy came to visit Anthony, again!
9. Nick and Ed(Bruce) Lee. Nick looks more asain drunk in the picture.

School is cool

Today I had my first day of class. It wasn't eye opening, but I think that a few things were emphasized for my career. The class isn't hard, nor is it long. The material is dry, but that's nothing new for my aviation training. What struck me as different than before is that what I'm learning has a great deal of importance. Not in my own performance, but for the interests of the nation. It is hard to get into greater detail, simply because there isn't much that this public blogg is privy to. THAT'S WHAT I MEAN. It it's important enough to have to open the door of the building with finger identification, and my classroom with a combination, AND my own learning material from a safe, then I think that confidentiality is deserved. Any true American will agree.

Other than that my day was pretty normy. I've discovered some new fat reserves in my abdominal area. I will try to mine these deposits at the gym on a daily basis. What can I say, I'm greedy like the Scrooge.

Yesterday Matt(Psuedo roomy) and I went northeast to the Bellingham area to hike Mt. Baker. I imagine the views I saw to be somewhat like Holland. One of the most beautiful hikes I've been on to date. A lush forrest with patches of clearing that were covered in wild flowers. There was a soft and steady hum from the number of bees that foraged the expanse of fields. There was some snow patches at the top of the hill, and Matt and I took turns making snowballs and chucking them over the mountain side. The cloud bottoms were slightly lower than the elevation of the mountain(5,500 feet where we were) and to be engulfed in the white puffies was an experience in itself.

The ride back was long, we stopped in a local restaurant that had some really good food(and dessert). I had a spicy pasta with beef tenderloin, capicolla, spinach, tomato, mozzarella, shallots, and some other stuff that blew my mind. A great dinner to end a tremendous day.

It looks like things are coming along nicely. Tomorrow there is a "wetting down" party at the Green Lantern. The term means promotion, as there are 4 of my compadres that are getting O-2. This means they are all chipping in so I drink for free. A great concept until Saturday morning of course. We will see where this swaray takes us.

Until tomorrow. Tootles!

oh, and bless your heart.

My wonderful weekend in Florida

I don't have a whole lot of time at the moment, but I'd like to quick recap on my fab week in P-cola.

1. My parents stopped by on their way home from my aunt's house on tuesday and wednesday(on their way to my sister's house in Clearwater). It was great to see them.

2. I got to go out on the boat, which I've coined(Steph's mom approved): The Pink Honey

3. Golfing with Dr. Bob Frank. He's a fantastic instructor, yet his golfing... he's good though.

4. Winging ceremony/party. I don't dissapoint(see pictures 1-3 below)

5. A fundraiser for cherity party that Steph was in charge of decorations. She went above and beyond in my opinion. The auction was fun, the food was delish and the comedian was a southern speaking asian. Odd to listen to and also quite funny. (See last 3 pics)

6. Pirates of the Carribean part 2 and Moulan Rouge with my dear PJB.

7. A fab dinner over Nikki and Jeremy's. The dogs were our entertainment(All 6 of them, though only 3 were theirs). Nikki's 2 new dogs are mini chiwawas. Bless their hearts.

8. I love my PJB.

That's the highlights. My school starts tomorrow. Soooooooo..... goodnight.

Weekend Review

So before I begin my summary, I tried to put my pictures from my camera onto the computer. I don't know why, but I thought that my camera had a fire wire connection. That would be some camera. The crappy thing about it, is I cannot find the connector for the computer. Therefore, today there shall be no pictures to share with you fellow patrons. My apologies to you and your family.

Friday 3PM: Brewed my beer. I took a look at it yesterday, and the fermentation process has occurred. This is a good thing. I also feel that it should be ready to bottle tomorrow. Also a good thing, since I'll be leaving on a place for P-cola, and the next possible time to get to it would be next week. Tomorrow will be a busy day indeed.

Friday 6PM: The pub tour was post poned due to weather. It was just too nice out in Anacortes to drink beer and walk outside. Actually, it was rescheduled to an undetermined date and time due to a lack of desire and time. Myself included. Sometimes planning your alcoholic intake can be too stressful. The would be group of crawlers decided instead to hang out at our favorite Ana establishment, the Brown Lantern. A good time was had indeed. Many gross shots and drinks later, myself and my flight school friend Nick decide to go to an instructors house for free booze. Possibly a dumb decision, the jury is still out. You see, I had what my dear brother Eric and I like to call, a "Systems Failure," or a black out. The last thing that I do remember is parading around the house double fisting PBRs(Paps Blue Ribbon beer- a Massachusetts treat). Systems failure in this situation was probably the wrong decision on my part, since I will soon get to know these instructors and I probably did something stupid at the man's house. I also left my last pair of aviators at their house(Boooo). The next morning, I wake up on my bed with my contacts out but my clothes/shoes still on. Interesting, and come to find out my bathroom counter top was were I decided to place my contact lenses. Sometimes I wonder how I can get so ingenious when I drink. I feel it shall remain a mystery.

Sat, 4PM: Waterski and Wakeboard with my current roommate Matt, in a boat that my friend Anthony owns. Good wholesome fun, and a good way to work my hangover off. Mad props to Anthony, he's a gentleman and a scholar.

Sat, 8PM: House warming party at Marcus and Will's place near deception pass. I thought the view couldn't get any better than my house. Their house took it to another level. A fantastic view and their property is waterside, so they can wake up in the morning and walk to their back yard to go crabbing. There party was INSANE, with fine foods(fresh caught crabs and Will's pulled pork) and fine beverages. It was thankfully not a "Systems Failure", although there was much gallivanting and silly drunken behavior.

5. Sunday: Recovery, funny stories from last night and soreness from the water sports on the lake. Bartender Jeremy and I throw around the idea to go cliff jumping, it was eventually thrown out the window, and replaced with the movie Warrior. A good Asian flick, I recommend. I also cooked the delish Polish Blowout for myself and Matt. Mighty going in, and should be coming out. I cannot wait.

I hope this read isn't too unbearable, it feels a little like a "dear diary" entry. This weekend was strenuous on my body, so to speak I have one foot between my bed sheets right now. I dream of a fine lady that will be in my arms in a little over 33 hours.

Goodnight you.

July 21, 2006

Sir, sir, If I could just have a minute of your time please...

Ok, It's been a month, I know. Tooooo long. Well I have past the point of caring about describing everything that's happened to me since my last entry, so I will point you in the right direction. PJB's blog has everything that's happened to me since July 6th until July 11th. Plus she does a better job than I.

I will also have to appologize for the fact that I had written this blog one hour earlier than this post and I lost it trying to do a spell check. So again, to clarify: Apologize for the spelling, apologize for the lack of post. Now that that's settled...

Quick recap prior to shmoopy poopy time with pjb:
1. SERE school
2. Palm Springs - Gay fabulous, too hot(110 daily average), gorgeous
3. NAS Lemoore for centrefuge - "G measels", brused legs, feel like crud
4. Same day drive to San Jose - Uncle Bill and Aunt Kate visit, been 6 years why did I wait so long? Amazing people. Obtain 3 blues CD's from Uncle Bill's bands.
5. Same day drive to San Fran for shmoopy poopy time.

Since my love left North West America:
1. Anacortes is awsome
2. This house is amazing: Paradise view, fruit trees, dumb weighter(fun)
3. Washington State National Park(part of house view, nice trails to best views)
4. Commercial Avenue bars: Brown Lantern(YES!), Watertown(OH NO!)
5. NAS Whidbey Island: drive to work(amazing), PSD(not amazing)

Unfortunately They moved my class up date to the 3rd of August so I cannot attend Mr. Boyd's batchelor party. Bright side is the school is very flexible with leave so I will be attending his and Kendra's wedding in September. Boo Yah! I am also attending P-cola for the duration of next week, things to come:
1. more schoopy time
2. fishing
3. Justin and Jeff's winging
4. back rubs
5. happy endings?

Tomorrow(Friday):
1. Home depot - create a cooling device for wort
2. Brew beer - German Cherry Wheat beer, the "Triple W" or the "Welcome to Washington Wheat"
3. Pub crawl - Eric and I developed the first possible of it's kind. 10 stops: 1 bowling alley, 5 restaurants, 4 bars. I call it "Crawing for Water" (Last bar is Watertown)

Sat.
1. Potato Salad - oh you know
2. Will and Marcus's house warming party - nutzes

Sunday - more blogger love?

Now I big you adeu.

Last night of freedom

Tomorrow I have my field training. It is going to suck. I decided that after I got back from school today that I would have a few cocktails and watch the Americans lose to the Ghanians. Afterwards, we went to a pizza place downtown. The atmosphere was very Diego, with lounge chairs not far from the floor of a warehouse style restaurant. The pizzas were huuuuge. Granted, they weren't NYC style, but tasty all the same. A good last dinner before my fate in the desert.

I had my last convo with PJB tonight. I well prepared her for the week at hand, although I have some reservations whether she can handle not talking to me for a week... JOKING. She is way busy and is having a love hate relationship with cheer camp. Work is also stressing her out, she has like 8 jobs at Baptist Hospital. Baptist, by the way, is competing for the Fortune 500's top 100 companies to work for. Pretty good huh? What's cooler is my shmooper is in charge of writing the application! It's due by the end of July, and it gets her a little frazzled sometimes from the stress. It's pretty cute.

It will be my thoughts of her that will help me get through this ordeal. After all, she's in my happy place.

Such funions

The more I'm exposed to my soon destiny of sere training(loosing 20 pounds and gaining black and blue marks) the more I think this is going to be a fun ride. I learned a great deal today, and I'm actually getting pretty pumped about field training. Hopefully my enthusiam will make the time less sucky.

On another note, I've made my security deposit and background check payment for my apt. in Whidbey. I'm quite excited that I'll have a "home" when I arrive at my final destination of this long and arduous journey. I'm even more excited that I'm picking up a drifter in San Fransico, and she'll be staying with me for the duration of my travels, and then some. The plan is to stay with her family in Frisco, and then hit up a few places on the way up(wine country, Seattle, parks, peep shows, you know... the CIRCUIT). It makes me so happy to know she'll be with me. Speaking of my PJB, she's currently in Cheerleading camp coaching her jv girls in Alabama. I feel like I'm filling in for her while she's out. She hasn't been to a computer since the camp, and it's delightful to know that she can't wait to get to one to check out my blogg. I have a fan....(single tear)

I miss her muchly. She is my life blood.

Tuesday....

So what am I doing here? The Navy conveniently made SERE training (Survival evasion Resistance Escape) between my winging and my next squadron training. And just as convenient is that it is held in San Diego. I really couldn't be more pleased though. This city is fantastic. The info I'm learning now is confidential, so if I told you... well... I'd have to tickle you to death and nobody likes that. So let's not get gruesome, and we'll move on.

I'm staying with my old buddy from flight school. Well actually I knew him from college, Justin Echoffe. We were in NROTC together, although he was a year ahead of me. He's in SH-60 training, and he's got a great apartment close to downtown with his girlfriend. They live in Hillcrest, which is the gay section of town. That not only means FABULOUSSSSSS, but also means great eats, and you know I gots to have my eats. Thursday night we went out for really cheap Sushi, and it was FANTASTIC. Sporting an also fantastic hangover the next day, we opted to eat in friday, and I had leftovers on Sat(booo. actually very tasty but not interesting in the least). Sunday we went out to The Hash House A Go Go, new American cuisine that uses "fresh" ingredients. They also should have added "a butt load" in front of "fresh" because the plates were the size of a turkey platter and they were stacked like sky scrapers. Sooooo good. I had sage fried chicken which was on top of bacon infused, belgium style waffles. Justin had crab cakes, also ginormous and delectable. Laura(forgot to mention, Justin's G/F) had fried shrimp the size of small lobsters and on top of some of the best tasting veges I've ever had. All in all, not such a bad representation of San Diego cuisine.

Ok Billy boy's tired. Goodnight patrons.

"Don't do that clock" AKA "Silly clock games...."

The title refers to a Dane Cook stand up where he wakes up late for work like 8 hours late. Such is my blog activity prior to this one. You'll have to thank PJB for my meraculous comback in Billy's blog revival. My first entry was but a shooting star, bright and shinny but fizzled out into the darkness. Such was most of the subject material, so I'm scratching it and starting anew. Clean slate as you will.

Where to start. PJB and I have been apart for hmmm let me see, 8 days six hours and 21 minutes. The minutes aren't right, but you get the point. I have traveled almost coast to coast, Pensacola FL to San Diego CA in 5 days, without A/C for 4 of them. To my luck, it broke in Tyler TX, 2 hours prior to Dallas, which was 101 degrees. Not so fun. Despite my setback, I did get to see some favorites, such as the Pentrafied Forest national Park and the Grand Canyon. Both were definately worth it and I recommend all to see these national treasures. Pictures are soon to come when I get set up in my new pad. Oh yes my friends, Candice Pedraza (my new roomy) took some house hunting leave(free leave for the Navy) to find our pad in Whidbey Island, WA. She did a way better job than I would ever have, since she saw probably close to a dozen houses and I would have given up after some of the initial nastiness that she had to deal with realitors. What a nightmare. Anyways, the place sounds fantastic, and I'll be taking care of the paperwork while I'm in Diego, doing what I'm doing here. And what am I doing here friends? I will tell you what I'm doing here. TOMORROW! (dun dun duuuuunnnnn!)
